Indigenous Knowledge Project

The Indigenous Knowledge project focuses on the preservation of the Gamtkwa tribe’s ancient knowledge about medicinal and other useful plants. Six trainees have been selected by the Gamtkwa traditional leader: Chief Ronald Booysen. They will receive guidance in indentifying the plants and in the preparation of the traditional medicine.

Tony Dold, an ethno-botanist from Rhodes University will oversee and document this project assisted by Sharon Diogo who will be the field researcher.
